Nordex confirms record order for wind turbines for N163 / 5.X

Nordex has received a firm order for 162 of its N163 / 5.X Delta400 series turbines for Acciona Energía MacIntyre 923MW MacIntyre (923MW) DownQueensland, Australia, Asia-Pacific Click to see all the details wind farm in Australia, the German manufacturer confirmed today.

The N163 turbines will be powered in 5.7 MW operating mode and will be installed on tubular steel towers with a hub height of 148 meters.

“This largest N163 / 5.X project to date once again demonstrates the worldwide success of our Delta4000 series,” said Patxi Landa, Nordex Group Sales Director.

The MacIntyre Project is located southwest of Warwick, in the Australian state of Queensland, and is part of a complex that includes the 102.6MW Karara Karara (102.6 MW) DownQueensland, Australia, Asia-Pacific Click to see all the details wind farm, also developed by Acciona. A first agreement for the use of Nordex wind turbines in the complex was concluded at the beginning of last year.

Acciona agreed in March 2021 to sell a 30% stake in the MacIntyre project to the subsidiary of international metals group Korea Zinc Ark Energy. The Spanish developer will retain full responsibility for the development, construction and operation of the wind farm.
